EULOGY FOR BETTY TENNENT (AUGUST 5 TH. 1999)

YES! earth grows the poorer, Heaven seems more desirable, when our loved ones have gone into the shadowy land. Shadowy, did I say? Nay, Here is the shadowy, There the light blocks out the radiance of the sun. With excess of brightness that higher world is dark because our eyes are so weak, our faith so dim. In this ever-changing world of phenomena We seem but shadows pursuing shadows, like the rest. When we reach There we shall know the truth, that love, and life, were the only real things we have ever found.

"THERE!"

"No shadows There! They joyfully behold Him!
No cloud to dim their vision of His Face!
No jarring note to mar the holy rapture,
The perfect bliss of that most holy place.

"No burdens There! These all are gone forever!
No weary nights, no long or dragging days;
No sighings There, or secret, silent longings,
For all is now unutterable praise.

"No sorrows There! No sadness and no weeping!
Tears wiped away - all radiant now each face;
Music and song, in happy holy blending,
Fills all the courts of that sweet resting-place."

My Mom, Elizabeth Faith St. Clair Tennent, nee Edwards, better known to all who knew her as Betty, has left us.

Betty is derived from the Hebrew name Elizabeth. She was quiet and gentle. She never looked for trouble. She always placed others above herself. She was well loved among her family and her friends - although she had her human moments just like all of us. She was sincere and trustworthy.

She was a mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, mother-in-law, Nana, Big Nana and friend to her family and friends, and we all will surely miss her in our own way.

Join up with your beloved husband, Alfred, Mom, your sister, Peggy, your daughter-in-law, Anna and with your own parents, my maternal grandparents.

Goodbye Mom. We all love you. Go in Peace. Go with God.

Thankyou all for being here, for her, my Mother. Thankyou.

Betty Tennent :- October 3rd.1922 - August 2nd. 1999.
